Doncaster Rovers Belles FA WSL license extended.
The FA can today confirm that new FA WSL licenses will be offered to the eight current FA WSL clubs for the 2013 season whilst plans are being discussed to open the league from 2014 onwards.
These plans include exploring the introduction of a second tier FA WSL operating in 2014.
After a successful first season, The FA WSL has begun planning for its future development. The FA Board will review a new FA WSL business plan that will outline the future shape of the league from 2014-2017, including its integration within the top tiers of the women’s game in England.
The FA anticipates this review will be completed by June 2012 and will confirm the position at this time.
Doncaster Rovers Belles were seventh in the inaugural WSL season in summer 2011 and are seeking to improve that when the second season kicks off in April 2012.
