Doncaster Rovers Belles manager John Buckley was gracious in defeat but disappointed with his sides performance against Bristol at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday evening.
He said: “The best team won. The best team by a country mile. They were just better than us.
“I said to the girls at half time that at 1-1 we were fortunate to be in it. I can only point to two maybe three players that I think have done relatively well.
“I’m slightly bamboozled and I said to them after the game that if that’s the quality of how you’re going to play then you will struggle.
“Our first three games back [after the mid-season break] we have actually played quite well but today, and I would rarely say this, it was just not good enough.
“I’ve got a lot of time for the players because I think they’re good players but they’ve not displayed that today.
“If I’m being honest they [Bristol] should probably have scored another couple of goals against us.”
What do you think?
