Four-midable Aine Sees Off Glasgow

Doncaster Rovers Belles enjoyed a decent work out with a 5-2 home win over Glasgow City ahead of the resumption of FA WSL fixtures away to leaders Birmingham City on Saturday.

City, the Scottish champions, won 2-0 when Belles travelled north of the border back in the spring as part of preparations for WSL part one and with eight players selected for latest Scotland training squad, one of whom, Leanne Ross showed clinical finishing to open the scoring.

Belles were soon level through Aine O’Gorman who went on to finish the half with a hat trick under her belt, with City players appealing for offside on her second and third goals.

O'Gorman showed good power and pace as she punished the City backline with her clinical finishing.

Jane Ross pulled one back for City late in the second half, but City’s hopes of forcing a draw were soon dashed as O’Gorman took her tally to four with another cool finish.

Substitute Jess Sigsworth completed the scoring in the closing minutes with a well taken right foot drive that flew in to the roof of the net.
