Jess On Target In Young Lions Win

A goal apiece from Doncaster Rovers Belles' Jess Sigsworth and Everton's Nikita Parris got England Women's U19s' season off to a solid start against France.

After receiving a bye to the second, and final, round of qualifiers for this season's UEFA Women's European U19 Championship, Mo Marley has taken her side to Holland for two testing internationals, against the French and the host nation.

And Sigsworth ensured their European preparations began with a bang, scoring the opening goal after just nine minutes.

The young lions had to wait until 14 minutes before the end to secure the victory, with Everton forward Parris doing the damage.

Buoyed by this victory, England will now take on Holland on Thursday.

Belles goalkeeper Mary Earps kept a clean sheet with forward Millie Bright coming on for her debut after 58 minutes.
