Director of Football
Chipchase initially joined the Belles for a six-year spell as a player during which she scooped three FA Cup winners’ medals.
“My favourite moment at the Belles was winning my first FA Cup medal. We beat Fulham 1-0 with a screamer from Gill Coultard – or was it Jackie Sherrard?” [Editor’s note: right first time…it was Gill Coultard! Proof you should never doubt yourself, Chippy…]
Chippy also took on coaching and then managerial responsibilities for the Reserve team during that her first spell with the Belles, and that developed into her taking the reins in charge of the first team for six years.
Leeds United came calling with the manager’s job in an offer Chippy couldn’t refuse, but in 2013 we were delighted that she agreed to rejoined the club she considers her home. Since then she was appointed to the Belles board as Director of Football, which involves having a hand in all footballing aspects of the club, including providing a receptive ear and good advice for our coaching staff.
We believe we have the perfect person for that position: not only does Chippy hold a Uefa Pro coaching license, but as she herself explains: “I work for the FA as a Regional Coaching Development Manager, which involves supporting and mentoring coaches within the grassroots game.
“I love the job because I meet so many interesting people who, like us at the Belles, are trying to improve and develop players whilst doing the same for themselves and the clubs they love.”
